The influence of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids on human health have been deeply investigated through the years. For example, one of the most important meta-analysis on 60 randomized controlled clinical trials concludes that the replacement of 1% of energy from carbohydrates by polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), mainly as LA, reduced serum LDL.
