Gingko biloba extract optimizes memory processes, particularly working memory and memory consolidation.
In a 30 days study on 61 subjects, the amelioration in functioning was clearly evident to participants throughout the trial, indicating that the changes were not only statistically significant but of a magnitude that could be subjectively noticed.
Participants were administered a battery of validated neuropsychological tests, before and after the administration.
Since long time, in vitro and human studies supporting neuroprotective effects of Ginkgo Biloba leaf extract have been published and reviewed.
According to an early trial on 19 subjects with neurologic stress, a 2-months Ginkgo leaf extract administration (160 mg/day) optimized cerebral perfusion significantly and behavioral performances.
In a study testing Ginkgo leaf extract effects on memory, administration of Ginkgo leaf extract facilitated memory processes and memory performance.
